Bern, Switzerland - Day 1

So we are finally on holidays. Well, i am, to be more precise. We are now in Bern, Switzerland. While my husband is attending conference, i am stuck all alone in our hotel room.

I love being in Europe in summer. The weather is perfect, not too hot & not too cold. Just to my comfort. I love the fact that you can get around the city in 15 minutes. I am also overwhelmed how green this country is. In Dubai, we don't have so much greenery, so i always miss nature, mountains and walking bare foot on the grass.

We are staying in Best Western Bristol Hotel. The hotel is nice, something that you would expect as per European standards. The best thing that i liked is that they've got complimentary Wi-Fi in the rooms & they've got complimentary cycles available as well. So while i am alone, i am able to roam around the city cycling. This means, that i can do my gym routines while actually doing some sight seeing :)
So after having breakfast in a small & cozy hotel restaurant together with my hubby, i decided to go to the Rose Garden. It's the 2nd recommended activity on Trip Advisor, so it was definitely on my "if i get bored" to-do list.
Not only the way to the Rose Garden is full of views (the pics above are taken on my way), but once you get there, you would be able to enjoy the full view of Bern along with lovely flowers in the garden itself. The entry is free and there is also a restaurant as well. The road to the garden is quiet steep, so by the end of it i was nearly crawling my way into the area. And on my way down, I've had my legs shaking too.

I have also strolled away from the main path several times, so i have ended up in narrow roads that gave me warm neighbourly feeling. At some point i was wondering how does it feel living in this kind of houses? It must be very warm & cozy inside when it's snowing...

Once i have finally reached the end of the road, this is the view that i got. As i mentioned earlier, there is a restaurant as well, so you would be able to enjoy the view for a longer time if you wish.

The flowers in the Rose Garden were great, however to me, it was an additional benefit to the view that i got.
